Emily Dickinson: Capacious as the Sea Collage

For many years, I have been inspired to create visual metaphors of Emily Dickinson's poetry in 2D and 3D works. In this 2020 collage, I used the text from the poem "Capacious as the Sea" and a portrait of Emily to evoke the feeling of the sea and water, and of love and loneliness.

The collage is 12”x12”x1” and is mounted on aluminum.
