Contemplative Chairs
Encaustic Painting Triptych

I created these three encaustic paintings with miniature chairs and encaustic paint. In this series, I want to capture the feeling of what a daydream, meditation, imagined idea or ephemeral thought looks like. The chairs represent a place of contemplation. Sitting in a chair, your mind wanders while in a reverie. I like the sensual quality of encaustic paint that creates a lush, textured surface that is glossy and has depth.
